Account Deletion

Your Right to Delete Your Account

You may request deletion of your Goatie account at any time. Account deletion removes your personal profile, login credentials, and organization membership. You may also export all your data before deletion.

How to Delete Your Account

1. Export your data first (recommended). Go to Settings → Data Export to download a copy of your animal records, health records, and organization data.
2. Cancel active subscriptions. Go to Billing and cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account.
3. Transfer or resolve pending ownership transfers. Any pending transfers must be completed, rejected, or cancelled before deletion.
4. Submit a deletion request. Go to Settings → Account and select Delete Account, or contact us at support@goatie.app with subject line "Account Deletion Request".

What Is Deleted

• Your personal account and login credentials
• Your user profile (name, email, contact information)
• Organization memberships where you are the sole member
• Draft records not yet submitted
• Saved preferences and notification settings

What Is Retained

Some data must be retained for legal compliance, livestock traceability, and record integrity. The following is retained after account deletion:

• Ownership transfer history— immutable records of completed transfers are retained as required by the system's permanent record guarantee.
• Animal records you created — if animals remain owned by your organization, those records are retained until the organization is fully dissolved or transferred.
• Audit logs — security and compliance audit logs referencing your account are retained for a minimum of 7 years.
• Billing records — financial transaction records are retained as required by applicable law.

Processing Time

Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation when your account has been deleted. During this period you may cancel the deletion request by contacting support.
